Thorough Examination of a Patient Hoist

This is an on-site course, where the instructor will come to your premises


Course Duration

Novice: 1 Day - Maximum of 6 Delegates 


Course Requirements 


Training Room with adequate seating and projection.

Please ensure a Patient hoist is available for the days training.


Course Contents


● Responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

● The Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regs 1998

● The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regs 1998

● Other relevant legislation and guidelines i.e. LEEA Acop

● Health and Safety covering Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Codes of Practice and other relevant legislation. safety certificates, inspection lifting equipment / accessories /attachments etc.

● Reporting of defective equipment / accessories

● Completion of Report of Thorough Examination

● Removal of equipment / accessories / attachments if dangerous and quarantine procedures

● Return lifting accessories to storage and stow correctly

This is an on-site course, where the instructor will come to your premises


Course  Duration

Novice: 2 Days Maximum 6 delegates. 

Refresher: 1 Day Maximum 6 Delegates


Course Requirements


Training room / area for the theory required for both days.

Delegates must have appropriate practical and theoretical knowledge and experience of the lifting equipment to be thoroughly examined.

 


Course Contents


● Responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

● The Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regs 1998

● The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regs 1998

● Other relevant legislation and guidelines i.e. BS7121, ACOP L113

● Health and Safety covering Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Codes of Practice and other relevant legislation safety certificates, inspection lifting equipment / accessories /attachments etc.

● Methods of Testing, Proof Load Testing (overview) Determining safe working loads factors

● Reporting of defective equipment / accessories

● Completion of Report of Thorough Examination to the Manufactures instructions

● Removal of equipment / accessories / attachments if dangerous

● Return lifting accessories to storage and stow correctly


If you have any attachments these can be included in the assessment up to a certain limit.

Thorough Examination of a Wheelchair Access Lift

This is an on-site course, where the instructor will come to your premises


Course Duration

1 Day - Maximum 6 delegates. 


Course Requirements


Training room / area for the theory.

Please ensure a Wheelchair Access Lift is available for the days training, weights are an advantage but not essential, and all delegates must have the correct P.P.E


The delegates must be qualified electrical or mechanical engineers and all engineers must have thorough knowledge of the Wheelchair Access Lift, the course will enable competent delegates to carry out the 6 monthly LOLER Inspections and to certify the Wheelchair Access Lift is fit for purpose.
